Bio

Paul Barrie is a writer and director with 15 years of experience working in a variety of roles in the Scottish film and television industry.

Paul’s work as a writer/director has screened at a number of international film festivals, received three RTS Scotland awards and had online distribution via the STV Player. He has worked on projects for a number of broadcasters and production companies, including Forest of Black, The Comedy Unit and BBC Scotland and most recently worked as a Development Executive with La Belle Allée Productions.

Having got his start at SAE back in 2008, Paul is passionate about passing on his experience to the next generation of students. In addition to his work as a film lecturer at SAE Glasgow, he is currently in pre-production on a Creative Scotland funded short film, shooting in Autumn 2023.

Qualifications

Paul Barrie has completed the following qualifications:
BA Digital Film & Television Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
Digital Filmmaking (Diploma) SAE Institute Glasgow
