Once the Finalist Assessment Board has confirmed your award your certificate will be sent as soon as it is printed and the initial diploma supplement is free of charge. The diploma supplement is posted with your certificate.

Your certificate will be sent to the home address you have listed on your Student Record. It is essential that you ensure your contact details are kept up to date so your certificate is sent to the correct address.

Please allow 4 weeks for postage to the UK and 8 weeks for postage to arrive to an international address.

Diploma Supplements cannot be issued to students with outstanding debt to SAE. If you have an outstanding debt please contact our Finance Department at ukcollections@sae.edu  by emailing them directly.

Replacement Certificates – SAE-accredited programmes

The final award certificate, which SAE issues as proof of the conferment of an award, is a unique and valuable document that should be carefully preserved by its recipient. SAE will not issue additional copies or a duplicate certificate to any one already holding an original certificate.

If a SAE certificate is lost or destroyed a replacement can be issued which will have exactly the same standing as the original it replaces.

It will be produced in the current format and may not be a facsimile of the original. You are required to complete an application online, using the form at the end of the page, to obtain a replacement certificate.

For SAE replacement certificates there is a charge of £65/£35 for a replacement certificate depending on the university it is awarded from please see the details below.

An official letter confirming the University award can be produced. We can also verify photocopy copies of the original certificate. Please send this to the EU Registry (registry_eu@sae.edu), or via the Document Information Request Form at the end of this page, and we will process your request.

Our university partners offer award verification letters for awards achieved. Please note requests for awards confirmed before 2012 will have a longer turnaround time, as they require consultation of hard-copy archives.

Please note, an Award Verification letter is not a reference. It verifies your award only.

We can issue you with an award verification letter. An award verification letter is an official letter issued by the University which verifies: the qualification (including classification) you received; the start date; and the date it was awarded. This letter can be either:

  • Posted to you or
  • Emailed directly to an employer/third party (we cannot send it electronically to you)

If you would like a physical copy posted to you, please email to the EU Registry (registry_eu@sae.edu) with your full name, date of birth, details of the award you obtained and your postal address.

If you want the award verification letter to be emailed directly to a third party, you must first complete a GDPR form giving your permission for us to release this information. This form must be sent by you; we are unable to accept a form sent on your behalf by a third party. You must copy in the third party to this email, so that we can respond directly to them verifying your award.

GDPR Form

Please ensure we receive both your signed GDPR Form and the employer/third party contact details in the same message otherwise your request will not be processed.

Please note, if you are a current student we cannot issue you an award verification letter.

If you require us to verify the award and/or study details of a candidate, please ask them to complete the GDPR form and return to us directly, copying you into their email. We must receive this form from the candidate themselves, we cannot accept any sent on their behalf.

Please ensure we receive the signed GDPR form directly from the candidate, with your company copied into the email, otherwise your request will not be processed.

Please note, if the candidate is a current student we cannot issue an award verification letter.
