FOUNDATIONS
IN FOLEY WITH PETE BURGIS
A four week intensive foundation course for aspiring foley artists, offering you a fundamental understanding of foley performance for film and games.
The Art of Foley has traditionally been a skill handed down from artist to apprentice in a professional studio setting. It has been very difficult for new students of the craft to gain knowledge and practice in the performance methods used by an artist. It can take several years of work and practice to become proficient in the art.
Together we will practice daily, character analysis and footsteps, sound effects and prop choice, dynamic movement, cinematic foley and assets. Guided by techniques and methods developed over my 25 year career, I am delighted to be able to offer you over 300 film, TV and games projects to choose from when considering PBL.
During your time in the programme, I encourage you to actively participate in every opportunity and challenge yourself to push your limits. Discuss and debate ideas both in class and outside. I can give you the tools and techniques of Foley performance that will help you moving forward but you must dedicate yourself to becoming the artist.
