1. BoJack Horseman - Netflix

The series follows 90s sitcom star, BoJack Horseman, his human sidekick, and his feline agent/ex-girlfriend as BoJack attempts to navigate 21st century Hollywood and stage a comeback. A thought-provoking study of addiction and celebrity, this show is about more than just an anthropomorphic horse.
2. Rick and Morty - Netflix

Originating from a short parody film of Back to the Future, Rick and Morty is an acclaimed animation which follows drunken and definitely mad scientist Rick and his impressionable grandson Morty. The characters split their time between family life and interdimensional adventures. This dark but funny series is one of the best animation series created in recent years, with fresh and original writing.
3. Better Call Saul - Netflix

In this Breaking Bad spin-off, ex-con artist Jimmy McGill turns into a small-time attorney and goes through a series of trials and tragedies, as he transforms into his alter ego Saul Goodman, a morally challenged criminal lawyer. Better Call Saul has been well received by critics, with many arguing it is the best prequel ever made - some even say it is better than Breaking Bad, although it’s important to note that you can watch it as a standalone series too.
4. Red Oaks - Amazon Prime

Jewish college student David Myers begins working at Red Oaks country club in New Jersey during his summer break in 1985. This coming-of-age comedy follows David as he attempts to figure out what to do with himself, navigating adolescence, dating and the pursuit of happiness against a retro cinematic backdrop. Bound to resonate with those who enjoyed Craig Roberts’ performance in Submarine or The Fundamentals of Caring.
5. Ugly Delicious - Netflix

Award-winning chef David Chang stars alongside some recognisable celebrity faces in this travelogue and food documentary. Each episode of Ugly Delicious highlights one dish or culinary concept and explores how it is made in different regions and how it has evolved over time, offering a unique fusion of travel, cooking and history. Maybe not one to watch if your fridge is currently as bare as your local supermarket shelves, as it’s bound to make you peckish.

Set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Stranger Things follows the fallout from the disappearance of a teenage boy called Will Byers and the sudden appearance of a girl with no name but psychokinetic abilities. A must-watch for lovers of all things retro or Stephen King novels.
7. I Am Not Okay With This - Netflix

8. Westworld - Sky Atlantic

Perfect to watch if you’re looking for something a bit brighter to lighten these uncertain times.
10. Dark - Netflix

This comedy series sends up the toxicity of America’s cutthroat startup climate, with Hendricks and his friends the butt of most of the jokes.

Against the backdrop of #BlackLivesMatter this is essential watching.
