SAE students across our Games courses will be collaborating with fellow students from ICMP‘s BA (Hons) Music Production for Film, TV & Games as part of an exciting new game development project.

This brand new pilot scheme will see member of the ICMP community working alongside SAE Games students in the development of four games, getting involved in sound design, score, SFX, foley and consultancy work as part of the creative team.

Geoff Hill, Programme Leader for Games and Web at SAE UK, commented:

“We’re so excited to have this fantastic collaboration between SAE Students and ICMP Students. This brings all the key elements of Game Development together, with Art and Animation, Programming, and Audio. It reflects industry practices of interdisciplinary collaboration.”

“The students have the opportunity to collaborate with their peers outside the institute, learning the different workflows and techniques. It’s really exciting to see the ICMP students joining right from the beginning of the projects, participating in driving the game ideas and experience.”

“SAE and ICMP are supporting their students to build their professional network that brings opportunities throughout their career. This is our first pilot collaboration but we can already see the amazing experience the students are gaining, and are looking forward to many more in coming trimesters.

Can’t wait to see and show everyone the amazing games being made by these creative students!”

The pilot scheme will run for 12 weeks during the summer with the finals to take place in August. The project will then be embedded into SAE’s curriculum for Games programmes from September 2024.

Look out for more updates on this exciting initiative.
