Dr Cormac Gould
Audio Lecturer
Bio
After a shaky start, dropping out around 14, Cormac took a roundabout journey through education. This resulted in a degree in Music with Electronic Music, an MA in Music Since 1900, and a Ph.D. in Electroacoustic Composition.
His composition work focuses on avant-garde electronic music and his compositions have been played and installed in various locations around the UK. His research and compositional practice are focused on electronic music, sound design, manipulation of the voice, post-digital/glitch, and other areas. As well as this, he has been a member of various bands since he was a teenager: singing, and playing guitar, ukulele, and synths. His band FUSS was a regular on the Liverpool scene and was signed to Modern Sky UK. He also takes various freelance work, generally audio editing and mixing, for charity arts groups such as Plays Aloud.
Cormac is always willing to chat about esoteric, unusual, and new developments in musical practice and production.
