SAE launches the Andrew Scheps Audio Engineering Scholarship
SAE is delighted to announce the launch of our new Andrew Scheps Audio Engineering and Music Technology Scholarship.
The scholarship will cover the undergraduate tuition fees of one UK-based home fee status student for the entire year of the SAE Audio Engineering and Music Technology MSc.
This will commence in September 2026 at our London campus.
Andrew Scheps is a Grammy-winning, acclaimed American mix engineer, producer, and record label owner known for his work with major artists like Adele, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, and Jay-Z, blending vintage analog techniques with modern digital workflows, including a full transition to ‘in-the-box’ mixing and pioneering Dolby Atmos mixes.
Starting with early digital gear and touring with Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, he became a sought-after engineer, earning Grammys for his contributions to albums like Adele’s 21 and Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Stadium Arcadium, while also running Tonequake Records and designing signature audio plugins.
Andrew said: “SAE provides a vital space for the next generation of music producers and recording engineers to hone their skills and broaden their knowledge. With the industry constantly evolving, having the foundational knowledge for what makes a great sounding record is essential and I’m proud to help offer this through the SAE scholarship.”

The closing date for submissions is midnight on Sunday 28th June 2026.
All applicants will receive an email confirming that their application has been received and accepted.
The scholarship place will be awarded on Thursday 13th August 2026. The successful recipient will be contacted by email and/or phone by no later than Monday 17th August 2026.
Applications will be judged by a panel that includes the scholarship ambassador, SAE academic staff and industry professionals.
