Creative students to showcase work at end of year celebration

30 Nov 2016

It’s almost showtime for creative media students at SAE, who will be exhibiting their portfolios across animation, audio, film, game art, and music business.

Taking place at SAE’s Oxford campus in Littlemore on the 9th of December, the 2016 Winter Showcase will provide industry experts with the opportunity to scout up-and-coming talent from the next generation of creative professionals.

Prospective students and visitors are also invited and can expect to see cutting-edge work from students pursuing degree courses at the world-leading institute.

SAE Academic Coordinator, Dean McCarthy, said it is an important night in the academic calendar.

“We are preparing our students for an authentic future in creative media, so it’s important that they get used to publishing their work, releasing it the general public and having it critiqued by industry.”

Mr McCarthy added that the entire evening has been curated by Music Business students studying live events.

“We felt it was important that this was student led, and that the students showcasing work could collaborate with peers to decide how they want their portfolios to be exhibited.”

“It’s also an incredibly important experience for our Music Business students, who are given an insight into working with different media sectors and venue managers to execute such a demanding event.”

Admission to the 2016 Winter Showcase is free and will include live music from local artists.

Doors open at 6:30pm with the main event kicking off at 7pm. For more or information or to reserve a ticket, visit SAE Events.
