On 3 September SAE London will host an exciting SAE Extra masterclass with Conner Turner, half of the duo NVOY, as part of our fun-filled enrolment week. The event will take place from 3.00 - 5.00 pm at SAE House.
Conner is a 24-year-old songwriter, producer and DJ based between Nottingham/London. He graduated in 2015 with a first class BA (Hons) degree in Audio from SAE Oxford. Following graduation, he began his current project NVOY, who are signed to Black Butter Records/SONY Music.
In the masterclass, Conner will talk about his career trajectory and how remixing works from an industry perspective. He will explain the processes he goes through to create a finished product, right through from preparation, initial idea stage, composition, production, arrangement, up to mixing/mastering.
The session will provide attendees with a valuable chance to understand the elements that go into producing a remix. Conner will be deconstructing a remix of Jax Jones ‘You Don’t Know Me’, which reached number 3 in the UK charts. The remix is still unreleased but has amassed a huge amount of interest globally, as Jax is currently exclusively featuring the remix in his live shows.
Antonio de Robertis, Audio Programme Coordinator at SAE London said: “Reinterpretation of work is at the core of Postmodern philosophy, and it has the purpose of giving new lifeblood and identity to existing art pieces. Remixes have gained a central place in the current record Industry.”

Marked by their club-oriented dance floor sensibilities, but with a wider melodic and emotional range, NVOY rose at first through internet acclaim on blogs and YouTube channels. NVOY released ‘You Are’ with Black Butter in 2015, subsequently signing with the label.
Their release The Aurum EP received widespread support across BBC Radio 1, Capital FM, 1xtra and gained mass support from DJs across the electronic music spectrum. The lead track ‘Golden Touch’ was featured as Danny Howard’s Hottest Record following the success of single ‘Make You Mine’ and their Duo’s Minimix for Annie Mac.
The duo are striving forward to create cutting edge dance music for an international generation.
Alongside their productions, NVOY have gained a reputation for bringing the energy in their genre-spanning DJ sets, performing at EDC Vegas, Glastonbury, Holy Ship, Motion Bristol, Warehouse Project, Amnesia Ibiza and SW4, to name a few.
SAE London is really excited for our incoming freshers and current students to get a chance to hear from one of our successful alumni and an internationally accomplished artist.
Nathan Loughran, Campus Director at SAE London said: “The SAE Extra offering is just one of the ways that SAE helps our students understand how to forge ahead and establish a successful career for themselves after graduating. We’re also always really excited to get our alumni back on campus to share their sucess stories with current students.”
