Last month SAE London hosted the Airbit Academy Online Beat Selling Panel & Showcase in conjunction with Instros Only.
The SAE Extra event was a fantastic opportunity for students to learn from award-winning producers who have collectively earned $32 million selling their beats online.
Attendees heard from producers including Alessandro Pinto (Dopeboyz), Tone Jonez, Sikwitit, Airbit Founder & CEO and SAE alumnus Wasim Khamlichi.
They got advice about how to break into the music industry, and there were opportunities for attendees to have their beat showcased and reviewed by the panel, followed by a networking session afterwards.
SAE London Audio student Anton Fosh said: “The event was fantastic, providing real insight into a market which is very current and useful for up and coming music producers. As if that wasn’t enough, 2x Grammy winning producer Symbolyc One made an appearance for some extra tips and advice and was happy to network with the rest of the team.”
"THE EVENT WAS FANTASTIC, PROVIDING REAL INSIGHT INTO A MARKET WHICH IS VERY CURRENT AND USEFUL FOR UP AND COMING MUSIC PRODUCERS."
- ANTON FOSH, SAE LONDON AUDIO STUDENT
The event happened on the back of the Airbit Academy Music Producers retreat, which one lucky SAE London Audio student, Dev-Kishan Bhikha, was selected to attend.
Dev has been playing the Piano since he was about 10 and started to make and compose his own pieces when he was 14. His artist name is WTSN, and he uses Logic Pro to produce all of his beats.
Loubna Khamlichi, Head of Airbit Academy, said: “The 2019 Airbit Academy Music Producer Retreat was another huge success for everyone involved. The producers who attended this year said it was 'greatest experience', some even saying it was the 'best experience of their life'. Producers from around the world made music together, talked life together, and learned more about the craft and business of music; learning from mentors who make a very comfortable living selling beats online. We were also blessed to have S1 (Symbolyc One) share how he creates his international hits, and he also took us behind the scenes on his journey with music. There was a special bond created during the retreat and we're confident life-long friendships and working partnerships were created. We're so happy that Dev, through SAE's support, could be a part of the experience.”
SAE is keen to provide students with excellent networking opportunities where they can meet and learn from professionals. We’re glad that Dev got to experience the retreat, and look forward to continue working with Airbit Academy going forwards.
