SAE UK is excited to announce its new school partnership with London based non-profit music industry college and community, SoundSkool.
SAE Student Recruitment and Outreach Officer, Victoria Halling, said: “SoundSkool are the perfect partner college for SAE. Not only are they passionate about creating, but they put their students at the forefront of everything they do. Meaningful collaborations like these allow creative students the space and opportunity to excel, and we’re really excited to be working with them going forwards to take their creative futures to the next level.”
Established in 2008 by Founder & CEO, Simon Gordon, SoundSkool started out as a community organisation providing free music courses and workshops to young people in north London. They continue to provide these high quality music programmes on housing estates, working with local charities, schools and colleges.

Simon Gordon said: “My own route to helping change young peoples’ lives through music - SoundSkool’s mission - was born from my own personal experiences at school and college, and growing up on one of London’s notorious council estates in North West London as a young DJ/Producer.”
SoundSkool also now provides opportunities for 16-19 year olds to study free and full-time at their music industry college. Currently SoundSkool is working in partnership with Wac Arts College and The Roundhouse, this gives their students a unique opportunity to study in real music industry environments.
Students study pathways in either music production or music performance and all of SoundSkool’s courses provide music business units as part of students core studies. Students who did not achieve grade 4 or above in English and/or Maths GCSE are also able to complete these alongside any music qualifications they are studying.
Simon Gordon said: “We are all very excited about becoming an official partner with SAE for many reasons including state-of-the-art music production facilities for our students to use, delivery of masterclasses at SAE, work experience placements and in our opinion one of the best music production higher education providers for our students to progress on to once they have finished studying at level 3 with us.”
The practical skills and academic qualifications that SoundSkool helps passionate music makers obtain make their courses the perfect stepping stone to further study, and with SAE offering Audio Production and Music Business degrees, our new school partnership is a match made in heaven.
