Bio
SAE London alumni Inga Teder has built a successful career within the film and VFX industries, contributing to major productions from Guardians of the Galaxy to Disney’s Maleficent.
Beginning her career in layout before specialising in environment art and digital matte painting, Inga has worked across more than 17 feature films. Her practice is grounded in strong visual storytelling, cinematography and an ability to build detailed, immersive worlds for screen.
Alongside her VFX work, Inga is the author of Cotswold Mist, a cinematic fantasy novel inspired by real locations across the Cotswolds and illustrated by artists from the film and games industries. The project was launched via Kickstarter, reaching its funding target and exceeding expectations. The campaign sought £17,000 and has raised £19,895 from 333 backers, enabling the full production of the book. Drawing on this experience, Inga also shared a series of practical do’s and don’ts for creatives considering crowdfunding their own projects.
One of her most memorable projects was Disney’s Jungle Book remake, which won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in 2017. Inga worked on that project for over a year and a half, having the privilege of designing and building a complete sequence on her own.
Inga credits SAE with giving her the confidence to experiment, fail safely and develop both technical and collaborative skills. It also taught her the value of collaboration and teamwork. Group projects helped her understand how creative ideas are strengthened through shared effort, communication and mutual support – skills she considers essential within both the film industry and her current work as an author leading a multi-artist project. She quotes:
