SAE Nashville alumni make noise in Liverpool

24 May 2017

Liverpool and Nashville; two cities with a lengthy tradition of music and culture. So it seemed only fitting to have SAE Nashville alumni visit our Liverpool campus this month to record in our premium studios.

Jesse and Roy Henceroth have spent the last few weeks touring the UK with their American rock band The BreezeWay. Before heading back to Ohio, the duo dropped into our Liverpool campus to feature in our hugely popular Live Lounge sessions.

"Liverpool has always had such a big impact on music. We never thought we’d come over here and, in particular, to SAE Liverpool. "

“There are some similarities and some difference between the two campuses. But it’s been nice seeing the SSL board,” his brother Roy added.

Student Experience Officer Adam Lowe and Audio Production Programme Coordinator James McCormick set up the Live Lounge session to promote bands and artists, as well as equip students with practical work experience.

“We bring bands from across the city, or sometimes bands from different countries, and we get them to perform live while we film it,” Adam Lowe explained.

“We’ve done a lot and so we’ve got a whole range of music from indie rock bands to pop artists.”

“The most important part though is that our students get involved and get practical, hands-on experience.”

First-year student Kian Johnson had the privilege of helping record the latest session while he continues to build an impressive recording portfolio.

"I love all the studio time I get which I wouldn’t have gotten if I had chosen to study elsewhere. The facilities are also spot on."

After graduation, Kian hopes to work at a recording studio or in the post-production film industry where many of our alumni have found success.
