About the Campus

Situated in the centre, SAE Liverpool is just a five minute walk from all that the city has to offer.

Our recently refurbished campus boasts brand new Mac Labs, green screen and industry standard production studios full of the high specification equipment favoured by professionals. We regularly hold Live Lounge recording sessions featuring local bands - filmed and recorded by our own students. Look out for session recordings on our social channels.

Liverpool has a dedicated team of academic staff, supervisors and administrators who are ready to nurture your skills and support your studies from the moment you walk through our doors.

About the Area

Liverpool is home to over 6,800 creative companies generating over 48,000 jobs for creative professionals in independent gaming, film, audio and design.

A UNESCO city of music, Liverpool has over 130 music gigs every week and more artists with number one hits have Liverpudlian origins than any other city.

Support for creative startups is strong and locally based ACME regularly encourages collaborations through their KIN network and affiliations with Digital Catapult, resulting in growing opportunities for work and placements locally, nationally and even internationally.

Liverpool is a well-known city for students. Catering for at least 3 universities besides SAE, Liverpool provides a good range of options for students moving into the area.

* Elective module availability is agreed in August of each year. Availability may be subject to change for the following reasons:

  • In response to feedback and review processes – to ensure we continually improve our programmes.
  • Demand – to ensure the number of students is sufficient to deliver an excellent learning and teaching experience.
  • Currency and relevance – to ensure the elective modules on offer are up-to-date and reflect the fast pace of change in the Creative Media sector.

SAE will strive to ensure that any impact on students and applicants is limited if such changes occur.

Accommodation

What you need to know

Looking for private student accommodation can be a daunting process, especially if you are new to the city, or even to the UK.

To give you a helping hand, our Student's Guide to Private Accommodation is packed full of essential information, covering all the main questions and issues that people face when looking for accommodation.

Types of accommodation

Shared rental accommodation

As Liverpool is a university city, demand for student housing is heavy – so start looking early!

SpareRoom, Rightmove and StuRents are great places to begin your house hunt and get a feel for what’s available. SAE also has its own Facebook group page, designed to help students connect with potential flatmates.

Alternatively, you can also contact lettings agents directly. To help you, we’ve put a list together of agents in Liverpool.
NB: This isn’t a full list of Liverpool agencies, just some who specialise in student lettings.

*Ensure that the letting agent you use is following the code of practice of the national Association of estate Agents.

Private accommodations

SAE does not have its own halls of residence; however, there are private housing companies near the Liverpool offering purpose built student accommodation. Some include:

Homestay

Homestay accommodation gives students an opportunity to live with a local family. This is a popular choice for younger international students who want to immerse themselves in British life and culture, while maintaining the familiarity and safety of a family environment.

Contact our Student Experience Officer if you would like to learn more.
