Creativity With Purpose
Szymon Stawicki is a Lecturer in Content Creation, Online Marketing and Game Design at SAE Leeds. His creative work is driven by meaning, using storytelling, media and interactive experiences to explore mental health, loss, grief and social justice.
Alongside film, Szymon is pursuing a lifelong ambition: transitioning into game design and production. What once felt impossible is now central to his practice, bringing personal insight and authenticity into his teaching.
Industry Experience
Szymon has worked on impactful film projects addressing institutional racism within UK universities, as well as sensitive narratives around mental health and bereavement.
His industry collaborations include Channel 4, Screen Yorkshire, Trinity Vision, alongside a range of small and independent businesses across the Leeds creative scene.
Creative Philosophy
For Szymon, the creative industries are a community: a space for self-expression in a world increasingly shaped by profit and conformity. He believes it is vital to protect and grow this space for future generations, ensuring creativity remains human, inclusive and meaningful.

Szymon treats his students as professionals from day one. He creates open, level spaces where dialogue, individuality and mutual respect are central. His teaching encourages students to stand up for what they believe in, trust their voices and support one another – values shaped directly by his own creative journey.
