Bio
Dave is a web designer, developer, video editor, screenwriter, playwright and film director. He studied philosophy at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, and after working in music industry PR for a number of years, he began freelancing as a web designer and developer, initially specialising in creating sites for musicians and bands, and later branching out into work across a number of industries, most recently for the international climate- and engineering-focused NGO Resilience Rising. Other clients have included the International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure, film producers Ground Control and Grammy-winning singer and multi-instrumentalist Jacob Collier.
Since 2012 he has worked primarily with WordPress as a Content Management System, but has experience with many of its alternatives and competitors. He has built a number of WordPress plugins and themes, often making creative use of javascript to create unexpected, organic and skeuomorphic interfaces. He is skilled at coding in javascript, HTML, CSS, PHP, and has experience with page builders including Elementor and Divi, as well as WordPress’s native Gutenberg block editor.
Outside the world of web development, his theatre writing has been performed at venues including Riverside Studios, the Cockpit Theatre and the Hackney Empire, as well as at the Edinburgh fringe. His multi-award-winning debut feature film Passing Through, which he wrote, directed and co-produced, is due to be released in 2025 and he is currently developing a number of new theatre, film and TV projects. Dave is represented by Alexandra Maramenides at Rêve Agency based in Melbourne, Australia.
His key career highlights include being a web developer for global NGO Resilience Rising, as well as a writer and director of award-winning feature film Passing Through.
