AVAILABLE Placement opportunities
We have up to 16 roles for students to shadow a sound technician in all the Sound City venues across the weekend. You will see how a professional audio engineer sets up a stage, mixes live bands and ensures the best possible day of music at each of our 8 venues.
This role is for students who want to work alongside our box office staff, scanning tickets and being the welcoming face that our attendees see when first collecting their tickets at Sound City Festival.
This role is very similar to that of a sponsorship assistant. However, the conference assistant will help our team ensure all conference venues run smoothly. This role involves helping dress the venues, welcoming guests, and being on hand for any needs of speakers.
This role suits anyone interested in any form of filming or photography. We will provide students with a photography pass, allowing them access to every venue to capture content throughout the weekend. We would need content creators for every day from Friday to Sunday.
Runners are on hand to make sure venues have everything they need. This could include transporting equipment and beverages, or ensuring performers/speakers arrive at venues on time. It is an active role but essential in making sure each venue is running as intended.
This role requires students on hand during the festival to aid in ensuring the needs of our sponsors are met. This could be working within certain venues to ensure all sponsors’ needs are met, working closely with the stage manager of the venue. It could involve moving keynote speakers between different areas of the festival venues. This role is ideal for someone who wants to take on the challenge of working with music professionals and gaining event management experience.
This will be students stationed at the entrance to some of our venues, checking the wristbands of attendees. This is an important aspect of crowd management, as we can’t allow venues to become too full.
