SAE Liverpool Content Creation Students Visit FACT for Immersive Creative Workshop
First-year Content Creation students from SAE Liverpool visited FACT Liverpool this week to explore the centre’s current exhibitions The Mission is the End, The End Is All I Want! and Meet Me in the Digital Twin. The visit formed part of their ongoing module in photographic storytelling.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to photograph the installations, analyse visual storytelling techniques, and gather material for upcoming reflective tasks. They also experimented with short podcast ideas and video concepts inside the gallery spaces, using the exhibitions as creative starting points.
The trip directly supports their current module on photographic practice while also preparing them for next term’s focus on podcasting, video production and cross-media storytelling. The exhibitions provided an ideal learning environment.
The Mission is the End blends film, CGI, sculpture and immersive environments to explore reality, digital distortion and narrative fragmentation.
Meet Me in the Digital Twin combines lived experience, sound and speculative documentary to question how technology shapes the way stories are told.
Peter Lynch, Lecturer in Content Creation at SAE Liverpool, said:
“FACT is a cultural hub for art and digital creativity in the city, and it’s a privilege to bring our students here. The team at FACT welcomed us warmly, and the exhibitions gave our students a real insight into how photography, sound and moving image can work together. It’s perfect preparation for next term, when they’ll be developing podcasts and short video pieces.”
The visit forms part of SAE Liverpool’s commitment to giving students hands-on experiences within Liverpool’s vibrant creative community. Students will now develop a small portfolio of photographs, reflections and audio notes taken during the day, which will contribute to their ongoing coursework.
