SAE is delighted to announce the launch of our new Audio Software Engineering degree.
For students looking to combine their love of coding and sound, this unique course aims to equip this next generation of professionals with a knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) alongside audio and software development.
All students will get to grips with the fundamentals of audio software – coding, algorithms, synthesis, DSP and AI – turning ideas into real-world software applications.
In the process you’ll become familiar with industry-standard programming languages and platforms such as C++, MATLAB, Max/MSP, Pure Data, JUCE, GitHub, JetBrains CLion and CMake.
James McCormick, Programme Leader, Audio & Music, said: “Students often start in audio or music production and later become fascinated by how the tools themselves are made – yet few courses help them bridge that gap between audio production and software engineering.”
“Developed in consultation with leading audio technology companies, the Audio Software Engineering degree combines creativity with real-world problem solving, programming and DSP skills – preparing graduates to design and build the tools that enable modern audio and music production.
Available to study at SAE’s Glasgow, London, Liverpool and Leeds campuses, the course is a fast-tracked two-year accelerated degree programme taught across six trimesters.
Not only will students have the opportunity to learn from our expert teaching faculty but also utilise the latest industry software to hone their skills.
