Webinar: Storytelling for Short Film
About our Webinar on Storytelling for Short Film
Interested in studying Film Production at SAE Institute? Join SAE Tutor Paul Barrie for a webinar on storytelling.
This webinar session introduces the core principles of short film storytelling, moving from the fundamental question of “why story?” to a practical toolkit students can apply immediately in their own writing and development.
Delivered by award-winning writer and director Paul Barrie, the session breaks story down into its essential building blocks and shows how these elements combine to create momentum, conflict, and audience investment.
Using clear film examples and a streamlined approach to structure, Paul will demonstrate how short films compress set-up, sustain escalating development, and land a decisive ending.
This online session also folds in idea-generation methods and a hands-on framework for turning “a situation” into drama helping attendees leave with a repeatable process for generating, shaping, and stress-testing short film concepts.
Date: Thursday 2nd April
Time: 14:00 to 15:30
