The Open Day takes place at SAE Institute Leeds: Leeds Campus, The Switch at The Electric Press, 1 Millennium Square, Leeds, LS2 3AD

We work from a joint campus for ICMP and SAE. Our entrance is located on the north side of the building, facing Millennium Square and near the steps to the Leeds Museum.

The Open Day runs from 13:15 to 16:15. We recommend arriving at the start time so you can make the most of the campus tour, course sessions and time with our staff and students.

Our campus is right in the centre of Leeds, just a ten-minute walk from Leeds railway station. The station is well connected to the national rail network, making it easy to reach us from across Yorkshire and the UK.

By bus:
There are several bus routes stopping just a few minutes from the campus, including the 49, 50 and 50A (serving Kirkstall, Burley, Armley, Bramley and Horsforth), as well as services along the Headingley lines from Alwoodley, Adel and Otley.

Coming from outside Leeds:
If you’re travelling by train, simply arrive at Leeds railway station and walk to campus in around ten minutes through the city centre.

Parking:
There is no on-site parking at the campus. However, limited on-street parking is available nearby. You can use apps such as RingGo to pay for parking and check exact locations, availability and restrictions.

You can explore our undergraduate degrees in audio production, film, games development, content creation, music business, and web development, and speak to staff about which course might suit you best.

When you arrive, you’ll be directed upstairs where teas, coffees and some sweet treats await. The event will start with a presentation for all attendees from our senior team, followed by a short Q&A with all present.

After this there’s an opportunity for prospective students to take part in a breakout session in their chosen area of study led by one of our lecturers. This includes further details about the course, and a short interactive activity. Parents, family and friends can use this time to ask any further questions regarding accommodation, admissions, student life and opportunities.

We’ll finish the day with campus tours and an opportunity to chat to an accommodation provider, plus 1-on-1 chats with all our staff present.

Yes, the Open Day is completely free to attend.

Yes, light refreshments will be available during the day, including tea, coffee and biscuits.

Yes, the campus is surrounded by cafés, coffee shops, and places to eat, so it’s easy to grab a coffee before or after, or make a full day of your visit in Leeds.

Our personal favourites include:

  • The Tiled Hall Cafe (a beautiful, wide open space serving hots drinks, sandwiches and cakes)
  • The Northern Market (a variety of food and drinks vendors in a cooling cellar space)
  • Catherine’s Place (an adults only quiet cafe, perfect for anyone needing some respite, and also located within the Electric Press)
  • Ankave (a coffee shop across the road, serving cheese boards and pastries, and cocktails into the night)
  • A Nation of Shopkeepers (a distinctive British pub serving American diner food and regularly hosting live music)

But we’re also very close to many Wetherspoons, Caffe Neros, Starbucks, Greggs, and many more.

Yes, parents and guardians are very welcome. They can speak to staff about courses, student support, finance, and career options.

We include a dedicated Parents Q&A in our schedule, allowing ample time for parents and guardians to ask their questions.

That’s completely normal. Our Open Days are friendly and low-pressure. If you’re feeling unsure, you’re welcome to reach out to our team before the day, and we’ll happily talk you through what to expect.

We also make sure to set aside a dedicated quiet room on site; ask any member of staff on the day and they’ll be able to direct you to that space.

If you’re unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. Open Days can fill up quickly, and this allows us to offer your place to someone else.

We can also help book you onto the next Open Day or arrange a 1:1 campus tour instead.

You’ll be able to speak directly with a member of our admissions or academic team on the day. They can offer tips on applications, entry requirements, portfolios, and help you understand the best route for you.

No preparation is needed. Just come along, explore the campus, and ask any questions you have.

Our Open Days typically last for 2-3 hours to give you a solid idea of the campus, staff and courses we offer.

However, there’s no expectation to stay for the full event! When booking for the event, you’ll find an estimated schedule on the booking page.

On the day, we’ll keep you up to date with any small changes.
