Glasgow

Ever wondered how game artists make 3D objects look and feel real?

Date: Thursday 16th April
Time: 11:00 to 13:00
Where: 85-87 Portman Street, Kinning Park, Glasgow G41 1EJ (what3words: ///straw.cloak.prompting)

Come and find out at our Game Art Texturing workshop, a friendly, hands-on morning where Game Art tutor Eoghan MacArthur guides you through the process of texturing a 3D asset using Substance Painter, one of the industry’s leading tools.

Whether you’re a school leaver figuring out your next step, someone thinking about a career change, or a parent wanting to see what SAE is all about, you’re very welcome here. No experience needed, just curiosity.

On the morning, you’ll:

  • Use Substance Painter to texture a 3D screwdriver prop from scratch
  • Work with materials, smart masks, and layers to create realistic metal, plastic, and wear details
  • See how textures add realism and storytelling to game assets
  • Leave with a finished, textured 3D asset ready for use in a game environment
  • Get a feel for what studying Game Art at SAE Glasgow is really like
