Building Worlds That Feel Real
Amar Khatri is a Game Art & Animation Lecturer at SAE London, specialising in Game Art, Visual Effects and Animation. His work combines technical precision with imaginative worldbuilding – creating characters, environments and visual experiences that feel believable, immersive and alive.
With a background spanning games education and professional VFX practice, Amar helps students bridge the gap between creative ideas and industry-ready execution.
Industry Experience
Amar has freelanced with VFX studios such as Polar Media and Analog Studio, developing practical production experience across digital art pipelines and visual effects workflows.
Alongside industry work, he built the Level 3 Game Art module at West Herts College, helping shape new pathways into games education. His work as an educator was also recognised with a feature in The Times as an FE gaming lecturer.
He holds a BSc in Games Modelling, Animation and Effects from London Metropolitan University, alongside specialist training from Escape Studios and CGMA in advanced VFX, Houdini workflows and Unreal Engine environments.
Creative Philosophy
What drives Amar is the process of taking an idea – whether it’s a creature, world or visual effect – and bringing it into reality through digital art.
He’s especially inspired by fantasy and sci-fi creations that feel grounded and believable, where imagination and technical craft work together seamlessly.
Guiding Artists
Amar believes strongly in hands-on teaching. He guides his students through every stage of the creative process, from character creation to environment design and more, ensuring they understand not just how to achieve a result, but why each step of the process matters.
