We previously featured Jessie as part of our International Women’s Day content and wanted to learn more about her different projects. Get to know her better in our interview…
Have you always had a passion for music making and the industry?
I got started last year when a music promoter that I was friends with found out I could sing and asked me to do a gig as an emergency fill in. I have had a passion for all types of performance since I was a child starting off with dance and eventually finding my way to music.
How did you find your way to SAE?
I found SAE through a charity competition called Primal Live and fell in love instantly.
How has the course been useful for you?
I’ve been able to apply my new music business knowledge in real world situations so it’s been really helpful. The course has also helped me get a proper Electronic Press Kit together and some professional photos for my press release.
You have mentioned various projects as an artist and incorporating cosplay? Could you talk a little more in depth about these creative outlets?
I am currently working on the ‘Jessiverse’ which I plan to make a community through cosplayers. I am working on various cosplays to use in music videos and during live performances. I have also started V-tubing in which I created a V-tube model to look like myself in which I stream popular games and post song covers on my Instagram.
What are you hoping to do after the course?
I am hoping to explore the music industry through my course to then get a clearer idea of which sector I wish to go into. There’s so much to explore and learn about!
Are there other areas of the music business you’re looking to explore as part of your studies?
I am currently working with someone to get a record label going.
What would you advise anyone looking to study the degree?
Believe in yourself and do it! It’s the best thing I ever did.
What projects are keeping you busy alongside your studies?
Working on the ‘Jessiverse’ to properly launch it!
