The first rule of film club is you do talk about films
SAE Liverpool SEO Alex Hannah has established a new film club where student movie fanatics can come together and share their thoughts on a range of cinematic releases.
The first Film club will take place on Friday 12 June, at 3.30 pm via Zoom, and will consist of a discussion of Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing.
Each week, SAE students will be told in advance a film to watch in their own time, and then they can dial into the Zoom meeting for an informal discussion about the themes, construction and share their thoughts on the film.
This is a cross-campus initiative and is just one of the many ways that SAE is connecting students from across its four UK campuses during lockdown. This event is also open to all SAE students, not just Digital Film Production students!
SAE Liverpool SEO Alex Hannah said: “This club aims to be an informal environment to all students of all disciplines who have an interest and a love of cinema. Come along and observe or join in on the discourse as to what goes into making timeless pieces of art and expand your horizons by discussing films from multiple genres from filmmakers of various backgrounds and walks of life.”
SAE UK Student Experience Manager Adam Lowe said: “Our Student Experience Teams across the UK work endlessly to provide extracurricular activities for our students whilst we face these troubling times. This is just one example of the excellent creativity coming from the team during lockdown, alongside the many other initiatives already in place like mindfulness meditation and virtual quizzes.”
