SAE Glasgow invite you to exclusive Live Lounge launch party

05 Feb 2019

SAE Glasgow is looking forward to hosting an exclusive Live Lounge session on 15 February. Three acts will each perform a trio of their best tracks in front of an audience.

Based on the live-recording model that was popularised by BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, Live Lounges at SAE Glasgow are a great way for artists from the area to show off their sound to our students, staff and their guests.

The event will serve as a launch party for the latest Live Lounge series, in which local artists will be invited to the SAE Glasgow campus to record a session. Emerging artists will get some great footage which they can share on their social channels and raise their public profile, whilst our students will get some high quality video content that they use for one of their course modules.

The acts that will be performing at the launch are Flew The Arrow, SUPA & Da Kryptonites and Megan Black.

Flew The Arrow is Lee McGilvray, a fast-rising contemporary folk artist from the small town of Ayr on the West Coast of Scotland. He melds fleeting finger-style melodies with percussive beats through an array of pleasant open tunings, that are accompanied by his poetic lyrics and powerful voice.

9 piece Funk, Ska, Reggae, Soul, Hip-Hop, Swing and Grime Band, SUPA & Da Kryptonites were Winners of The Best Unsigned Band Comp 2015 by The Sunday in Association with XFM & the Wickerman Festival, and were also selected as STV's Ones To Watch For 2016.

Megan Black is a young musician, vocalist, songwriter and recording artist from Livingston, Scotland. Gathering an array of inspiring sounds from Ella Fitzgerald to Stevie Nicks, Megan’s influences have helped her pen some originals of her own and is conjuring a sound for timeless music that keeps the generations to come ever connected to what galvanised them. Lining up, alongside instrumental three-piece band Leonard the Rabbit, at defining venues such as King Tut’s, La Belle Angele and The Hug and Pint, Megan has made a considerable impression at venues across the country.
