The advert was created in the state-of-the-art SAE Liverpool green screen, and promotes the theatre’s annual pantomime which will run from Saturday 7 - Sunday 29 December this year.
Second year Digital Film Production students Kate and Jacob helped with the shoot, with Kate even taking on a starring role after one of the extras couldn’t attend.
Kate Larmer said: "The opportunity to work on a professional commercial set and interact with all the different roles was invaluable. SAE doesn't just ensure you understand the future job environment it actively seeks to put you in these situations to help build confidence and a resume."
This is not the first time that SAE has collaborated with the Liverpool Empire Theatre. Last year, Film student Francesca Tomlinson worked on the promotional video for their production of Jack and the Beanstalk.
Digital Film Production Programme Coordinator Carl Copeland said: “Regarding Jacob and Kate’s involvement in the shoot, I was happy that both of them had the opportunity to collaborate with a professional crew. Here they could observe how a typical set operation runs whilst building on their own skillset as budding practitioners. Moreover, a clear insight into corporate, promotional videography is invaluable experience when entering the industry.”
The Liverpool Empire Theatre’s production of Peter Pan features Benidorm stars Tony Maudsley as Kenneth the Cabin Boy, Asa Elliott as Tiger Billy, alongside Liverpool Television and stage actor Louis Emerick as Captain Hook, funny man John Evans as Smee and X Factor finalist Niki Evans as The Magical Mermaid.
The project was a great opportunity for Kate and Jacob to get experience working to fulfil a creative brief, working alongside professional actors.
