Amazing opportunity for SAE student to attend Airbit retreat with world-renowned producers

19 Mar 2019

SAE are proud to once again be sponsoring a place for an SAE student on the 2019 Airbit Academy Music Producer Retreat. The event takes place from 13-19 July.

The retreat is an exclusive five day collaborative experience set in the surrounds of a beautiful mansion in Somerset. It’s an amazing opportunity to work and learn from fellow music producers from around the world, while enjoying an amazing mansion in the heart of the English countryside.

Airbit is the world’s largest urban music production marketplace, where producers can sell and artists can buy beats. Airbit hosts over 220,000 producers who’ve earned over $30million through the platform, including platinum selling producers who’ve worked with some of the world’s biggest artists like Nard & B (Future, Migos, Lil Uzi Vert), Prod.By Dope Boi (Bryson Tiller), Scott Supreme and Scott Styles (Young Thug, Fetty Wap…).

What does the retreat involve?

Each day starts with a 1-2 hour masterclass from a top selling Airbit producer who makes six figures from selling their beats online. Masterclass topics include Craft and Musicianship, Mixing and Mastering, Online Beat Selling, Marketing and Branding, Building Relationships and Networking, and Behind the Beats.

You will then be teamed up with the mentors and other producers to create new beats. Mentors include Tone Jonez, who has over 20 years of music production experience; Sikwitit, a Dove Nominated producer from Dallas TX; brothers Tommaso and Alessandro, who have made over six-figures as Dopeboyz by marketing beats online, and CEO and Founder of Airbit, Wasim Khamlichi.

New beats are showcased each night, which is an opportunity to receive constructive feedback from other peers and mentors that will help make sure you’re industry-ready. Learning from those who are already immensely successful means you can avoid the mistakes you would make if you struck out on your own.

Free time is spent relaxing in the pool, watching movies in the cinema or hanging out in the games room.

“With the huge success of our first ever retreat last year, we're really excited to get the retreat underway again this year. We're looking for producers who already have fantastic music production skills, a great ear for sound selection, and the ability and eagerness to collaborate and work with others. This is the kind of producer who will benefit and grow most from the experience. The retreat experience itself is a huge opportunity for producers to learn how to perfect their craft and build a solid sustainable career in music. It's also the perfect opportunity to network with other producers from all around the world and build solid long lasting connections and relationships. The producers from last year's retreat are still in constant communication in the retreat chat group, supporting and motivating each other from all corners of the globe. We're really happy to work with SAE again for this year's retreat. The synergy between our brands and mission make this the perfect partnership, and together we can equip musicians with the tools and knowledge to have a successful career in music.”

SAE Oxford Audio student Joe Grain attended the retreat last year. He said:

“The airbit retreat was an incredible experience! I learned so much from all of these top selling producers who passed down their knowledge from a successful career. The people and location were amazing, it couldn't have been a better trip for anyone who loves creating music. I would strongly advise any SAE students who love creating music to apply for this retreat; I did without even thinking that I would be chosen and it happened, so don't miss out."

“We're really excited to be putting on a second Airbit Academy Music Producer Retreat this July. Last year was an amazing experience for all involved and the music that came out of it was top level stuff! We're also delighted to be partnering with SAE again on a sponsorship competition for one lucky SAE student! Our priorities for selecting applicants will be high quality production skills and being serious about developing a career in the music industry. This is a unique opportunity for producers to learn about the path to success from six figure earning music producers, and to collaborate and network with producers from around the world. The knowledge and relationships you will build during this retreat are, as one producer from last year's retreat said: 'a great set up for success!' Thank you to SAE for, once again, offering this amazing opportunity.”

It promises to be an amazing experience for one lucky SAE student. If you are interested in applying you should send a showreel and a 500 word essay detailing why you deserved to be selected to
