In this interactive lecture, Joshua shares his experience as both an actor and a voice performer, exploring what it truly means to bring a character to life, on camera and behind the microphone.
Participants will gain insight into how actors can be directed effectively on set, how to approach character building and casting, and what distinguishes screen acting from voice acting. The session will include practical examples, discussion, and a closing Q&A, giving participants the chance to dive deeper into the creative and technical aspects of acting across different mediums.
About the speaker
Joshua Albano is a Dutch-Italian actor and voice artist based in Amsterdam.
A graduate of the Utrecht School of the Arts (2018), Joshua has appeared in numerous stage and screen productions across the Netherlands.
On screen, Joshua has been featured in Dutch television series such as Een moord kost meer levens, La Famiglia, Voetbalmaffia, Keizersvrouwen, and Flikken Rotterdam.
His film credits include Tegendraads and the award-winning short film Stille Dorst, for which he received the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Queen Palm International Film Festival. Later this year, he will make his international debut in the Italian feature film the krampus rises. Now he is shooting the netflix series “haantjes” in the netherlands. Alongside his acting career, Joshua is a sought-after voice actor, lending his voice to brands such as the Dutch Government, Basic-Fit, MTV, the Lung Foundation, and Energie Direct, as well as for animated films including Sonic the Hedgehog.
