If you received the brochure because you visited the Campus or attended an event, you can request the fee schedules from the Admissions Office or directly from the Student Advisors, if you are already in touch with one.
ARE THE FIRST LEVEL ACADEMIC DIPLOMA AND THE BACHELOR’S DEGREE THE SAME THING?
No, they are not the same thing. The First Level Academic Diploma is a qualification awarded by SAE Institute, authorized under Art. 11 of Presidential Decree No. 212 of 2005, Ministerial Decree 280/2017. It is a qualification issued by Higher Education in Art and Music (AFAM) institutions and is legally equivalent to an Italian three-year Bachelor’s degree, as established by the Italian higher education qualifications framework (Law 268/2002).
Academic Training Credits (CFA): 180 (equivalent to 180 ECTS)
The Bachelor’s Degree is a UK educational qualification belonging to the FHEQ (Framework for Higher Education Qualifications in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland) system, awarded by the University of Hertfordshire in partnership with SAE Institute for the delivery of the study programs.
Credit Points: 360 (equivalent to 180 ECTS)
WHAT DOES ECTS MEAN?
The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a tool that helps to design, describe, and deliver study programs and award higher education qualifications. The ECTS system is closely linked to the modernization of higher education in Europe. In particular, it is a core tool of the Bologna Process, which aims to make national systems more compatible.
For more information on ECTS, please visit the European Commission website.
AFTER OBTAINING MY BACHELOR’S DEGREE, I WANT TO CONTINUE MY STUDIES IN ITALY. WHAT CAN SAE DO TO HELP MANAGE THE BUREAUCRATIC PROCESS?
The Institute will provide you with administrative and bureaucratic assistance aimed at obtaining the Declaration of Value (Dichiarazione di Valore in loco) issued by the Italian diplomatic missions in the UK.
By virtue of the autonomy granted to Universities, academic authorities have the right to evaluate whether qualifications obtained abroad have an equivalent in Italy.
SAE assumes no responsibility for the outcome of admission procedures at other institutions or for the use of the Declaration of Value issued to students by the authorities.
NOW THAT SAE ITALY IS AUTHORIZED BY MIUR TO ISSUE FIRST LEVEL AFAM ACADEMIC DIPLOMAS IN AUDIO PRODUCTION AND FILM, TV, AND NEW MEDIA PRODUCTION, I NEED THE DOCUMENTATION TO CLAIM TAX DEDUCTIONS. WHO SHOULD I CONTACT?
You are allowed to deduct educational expenses for attending secondary, university, advanced, and/or specialization courses held at Italian or foreign institutions or universities. For foreign institutions, the deductible amount cannot exceed the tuition fees set for corresponding Italian institutions.
You are eligible for the deduction provided that payments are made via bank or post office, or using debit, credit, or prepaid cards, as well as bank and cashier’s checks. You can request and obtain the relevant tax documentation only if you attended one of our AFAM courses—specifically, Audio Production (DAPL08) and Film, TV, and New Media Production (DAPL08), as per Ministerial Decree 280 of May 16, 2017—starting from the 2018/2019 academic year.
DO YOU HAVE STUDENT RESIDENCES OR ACCOMMODATION?
We can recommend a few partner agencies that offer “turnkey” solutions. If you need more information, check out the Agreements & Accommodation section on our website or reach out to our Student Advisors.
DO YOU HAVE AN ON-SITE CAFETERIA?
There is a dedicated area within the building where you can enjoy your meals and drinks. During the academic year, the cafeteria at Istituto Pasolini (located right across the street) is open, and we have a special lunch partnership with them. We also have several other lunch agreements with major cafes and restaurants in the area.
