Alessandra Micalizzi
Bio
Alessandra Micalizzi is a sociologist, psychologist, and PhD in Communication and New Technologies. She is a lecturer at SAE Institute and an Associate Professor of Sociology of Cultural and Communicative Processes at the Pegaso Digital University. Following her PhD, she was a research fellow at the IULM University of Languages and Communication.
She has taught at IUSVe in Venice and Verona, IUSTo in Turin, and IED in Milan. She is a co-founder and vice president of the Play-Ability association, the first Italian entity dedicated to conducting research and interventions in the socio-psychoeducational field with the aid of games (both traditional and digital). She is a member of the scientific board of the Italian journal Narrare i Gruppi, the international journal Online Information Review [Class A], and the journal Humanities and Social Sciences Communications [Class A].
She directs the series Communication processes & cultural practices at the university publishing house WriteUp Books [Open Access]. She is the coordinator of the first qualitative observatory on GAME and, in 2022, she coordinated the international project, co-financed by the CEI Initiative, titled #Playseriously, dedicated to the implementation of a video game as a space for adult-child relationships during DSA screening phases. She is the principal investigator for the PRIN project for the SAE unit, dedicated to the development of Smart environments in the Metaverse for musical performances.
She is a visiting professor and board member of the international master’s program NaaD (Architecture and Neuroscience – Coord. Prof. Davide Ruzzon).
