Italy has always been recognized worldwide for its productive and design capabilities, masterfully combining advanced technology and high-end craftsmanship.

The New Intelligence of Made in Italy project revolves around three cornerstones: craftsmanship, artificial intelligence, and social and ethical innovation linked to the world of arts and applied arts.

That is, a project’s ability to meet the criteria of environmental sustainability, accessibility, and openness to diversity.

NIMI’s main goal is to bring Made in Italy back to the international stage, giving designers from around the world the opportunity to embrace those ‘intelligences’ that have made it a key asset of our production system.

Through the internationalization of the AFAM sector, it will be possible to promote the excellence of Made in Italy across applied arts, creative media, and digital arts in relation to new technologies, particularly AI.

The NIMI partnership covers Italy’s design landscape from North to South. In each region, the most interesting experiences across the three areas will be mapped in order to launch research on the potential offered by new technologies and social policies in the growth of Made in Italy.

 

PARTNER ACADEMIES

The first part of the journey will give rise to a series of activities focused on the three ‘intelligences‘. The prototypes created by students and for local communities will be the narrative theme of an exchange and dialogue with designers and creatives from around the world, who will be called to contribute to their development, so that Made in Italy can become designed everywhere.

This will be achieved through individual mobility programs and international workshops, designed to foster dialogue and collaborative projects among students from diverse cultures. These will take place during major “Made in Italy” events, both in Italy and abroad.

Outreach will be a key element, especially to launch a virtuous path activating new ambassador creators and influencers who will bring this new paradigm of Made in Italy into a fresh scenario, where craftsmanship engages with the most advanced technologies through new educational pathways.
