D-Exhibition – Multimedia installations and live performances
SAE Institute Milan presents D-Exhibition, an event that unfolds through two distinct yet interconnected moments: DAEMONS, an exhibition curated by Lucrezia Nardi, and D R I F T, a live A/V performance curated by Riccardo Giovinetto and Leonardo Bruno.
DAEMONS
Exhibition
curated by Lucrezia Nardi
The exhibition takes shape from the ambiguity of the term daimon, creating a dialogue between its technical-computational dimension and its symbolic-cultural one. In the digital realm, a daemon is an invisible process operating in the background; in Greek tradition, a daimon is instead an intermediate presence, a force that acts without directly manifesting itself.
Through projects from various departments at SAE Institute Milan, the San Fedele Auditorium transforms into an immersive space made of sounds, images, installations, and audiovisual fragments. The exhibition acts as a temporary archive of research and experimentation, where creative processes, linguistic interferences, and heterogeneity coexist in an open and constantly evolving dimension.
The artworks interact with the theater’s architecture, building an audiovisual environment that unfolds like a score made of juxtapositions, deviations, and unstable relationships.
D R I F T
Live A/V Performance
curated by Riccardo Giovinetto and Leonardo Bruno
Inside the auditorium, at 7:00 PM, the final audiovisual performance by third-year students from the Multimedia Installations course will take place.
D R I F T is a constantly shifting composition of images and sounds that crosses different visual and perceptual scales: from the organic microscopic to satellite maps, from material details to the systems that aggregate them.
The performance unfolds through eight digital A/V productions that succeed one another as autonomous yet interconnected modules, interspersed with audiovisual transitions and live musical interventions. The project explores the relationship between observation, technology, and perception, highlighting the friction between human vision and machine reading.
The technical direction and audio engineering for the entire event will be handled by the SAE Institute Milan Live course team.
