WORKSHOP YANNLU PRO AUDIO

In January, you discovered with SAE Institute and YannLu Audio, preamp made from Belgium!

As an electronics engineer and musician, Yann Lu was trained at the INRACI and the ECAM. After a few years in the education and the metallurgy industry, he turns gradually to the design and the manufacturing of audio equipment.

His first conception is a pure class-A microphone preamp inspired by an early 80s Harrison MR-series channel strip circuitry, which was made famous by best-selling albums included i.a. Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Bad or Paul Simon's Graceland.

In 2016, he started his business as YannLu Audio and began to sell his preamp made from Belgium. He develops then an analog equalizer in format 500 and dashes into the design of kits DIY (do-it-yourself) where the customer assembles himself produces it.

This workshop was an opportunity to benefit from the experience of a professional who rose the following topics:

  • Electronics applied to a pro audio device
  • Measurements of the specifications of a pro audio device
  • "DIY" in the pro audio sector (do-it-yourself)
  • The audio transformer
  • Comparisons between several preamps

Thanks Yann for sharing your know-how!
