Award Verification
Please note that if you are a current student, we can’t issue you an award verification letter.
An official award verification letter can be produced to confirm:
- The qualification achieved and its classification
- Programme start and end dates
- Date of award
Award verification letters aren’t references and verify your award only. Please note that requests for awards confirmed before 2015 will have a longer turnaround time, as they require consultation of hard-copy archives.
To request, please contact the Registry Office directly by email at registry@ad-education.ac.uk.
If you’d like the award verification letter emailed directly to a third party, you must first complete the GDPR Authorisation Form below giving your permission for us to release this information and email it to the Registry Office directly by email at registry@ad-education.ac.uk. This form must be sent by you – we aren’t able to accept a form sent on your behalf by a third party. You must also copy in the third party to this email, so we can respond directly to them verifying your award.
Please ensure we receive both your signed GDPR Authorisation Form and the employer/third party contact details in the same message, otherwise your request won’t be processed.

If you’re a third-party organisation and require us to verify the award and/or study details of a potential employment candidate, please ask them to complete an GDPR Authorisation Form and return it to us directly, copying you into their email. We must receive this form from the candidate themselves – we cannot accept any sent on their behalf.

For University of Hertfordshire programmes
Third party enquirers such as employers, agencies and embassies must verify attendance and awards from our university with Prospects Hedd. A Hedd verification confirms the candidate’s name, qualification type, course name, year of award, classification obtained and dates of attendance.
Please visit www.hedd.ac.uk to register. There is a small charge for each enquiry and you must provide the written consent of the individual. To prevent delays, please enter the candidate’s details as they appear on their degree certificate.
Enquiries are checked and completed by the university’s registry team. The due date will be listed on your enquiry.
