Brice Deloose, SAE Brussels' lecturer for the Electronic Music Producer (EMP) training and our diploma in Sound Engineer will soon participate in the European Lab Forum in parallel with Les Nuits Sonores festival. An event not to be missed!
Brice, let’s introduce you first:
I have a master degree in electroacoustic music composition at Conservatoire Royal de Mons with a pedagogical aggregation and a sound engineer diploma from SAE Brussels.
Passionate about electronic music from a very young age, I have already had the opportunity to play Dour Festival, Ancienne Belgique, KIKK festival, Wave Festival (under my alias Sparkling Bits) and many Belgian venues Including the Fuse, Bozar for TedX Brussels, MIMA, Brussels les Bains as Pattrn, Epitome or Bétøn, my other three musical projects.
I co-founded FTRSND electronic music "collectif" as well as the Brussels Electronic Marathon. The latter was created a little more than two years ago in order to solidify the links between Belgian electronic music producers (especially Brussels) and I am also DJ, producer and sound engineer.
Les Nuits Sonores: we already know it! But the European Lab ... What is it?
Born in Lyon 7 years ago, European Lab is exported to Brussels, in parallel to Les Nuits Sonores festival. These nights are the opportunity to question, to reflect on the unity of the European electronic scene in its great plurality. For this, the video below explains in detail main subjects that will be broached for the year 2017:
And especially, what will be your participation?
Cultural Change Makers. With Andri Hafildason, my partner in FTRSND and the Brussels Electronic Marathon, we will discuss our ideas on how, in 2017, in Brussels, we can move culture, what we see as the new cultural issues.
And if not… Other projects "on fire"?
Of course! We are finalizing the final preparations for the Brussels Electronic Marathon, a three-day festival in Brussels from 13 to 15 October which will showcase the local scene in more than 35 venues in the capital. We are also preparing the two years of our Initiate concept at the Fuse and launching our "Obsidian" concept, an association between Initiate and the Norite label, on September 17th at the Zodiak, just as part of Nuits Sonores.
With the duo Epitome, we just signed a vinyl release on a new label Brussels "Skip”. And we finish an album with the project "Sparkling Bits". With the modular project Bétøn we are launching a reinterpretation of "In C" by Terry Riley that we will probably be able to announce soon in a prestigious concert hall in Brussels ... Other things but I still can not speak ... I would simply say, check out our FTRSND Facebook page to be kept up to date on all the new!
Les Nuits Sonores festival is from 14 to 17 September 2017!
