Masterclass: Multiband Sidechaining
Sidechaining is a well-known production technique applied to a wide variety of genres where a certain type of effect is activated by an audio track. A more specific sidechaining technique is sidechaining by frequency or a specific frequency range. By separating elements, sidechaining can have a more balanced effect on individual sounds/tracks.
Joost Stuursma talks the basics of sidechaining as well as sidechaining by frequency and based on volume shaping. For this session, a conventional multiband compressor and a loop will be used for demonstration.

Joost brings his experience into the classrooms of SAE, helping students progress with music production. As ghost production is a much-discussed topic, he tries to relate his current situation to his student and how to approach the industry strictly from a producers point of view.
