Online Open Class: how to mix a rock instrumental track "in the box"

Thursday, November 25th | 17:30 - 19:00

Nowadays, a bedroom with an audio interface, two speakers, and a DAW, can be an awesome starting point for the creation of a demo or a promo recording.

The quality of the samples in the most modern drums VSTs is amazing, and a nice guitar processor or a good amp simulation plugin can be game-changing in the recording process of guitar and bass in a song. In any case, though, learning how to mix and put all these tracks together is mandatory, in order to reach an acceptable quality standard.

In this entry-level open class, Michele Cigna (SAE Lecturer, Music Producer, Audio Engineer) will show you how to mix these elements on a popular DAW using its native plugins, teaching you how to equalize, compress and work with the ambiance, in order to emphasize the groove, look at the coherence between the spaces and find a spot for every instrument in the frequency spectrum.

The class is beginner's level and no prior knowledge is required. During the event you can also watch a short presentation of the BA/BSc Audio Production program (new class starts in January 2022).

The event will take place on Zoom. You can also invite your friends or your family to participate. Register using the form below in order to receive the link for the event and our virtual class.
