Simon Fay

Bio

Simon studied jazz guitar, composition, and electronic music at Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland. He then completed his MA in Sonic Arts at Queen’s University Belfast, specialising in electroacoustic composition and computer programming. He completed his PhD at the University of Calgary, Canada, in 2016, where his research explored the creation of software to facilitate live performance and improvisation in electronic music.

Simon’s music has been performed in Ireland, the UK, Mexico, Brazil, USA, Greece, Australia, and Canada, and he has presented his research at international conferences in the US, Australia, Canada, and Greece.

Since 2016, Simon has been part of the Audio faculty at SAE London, where he teaches sound theory, recording and mixing techniques, research techniques, and computer programming.
