SAE students documenting the 31. International short film festival Interfilm

SAE BERLIN - 31. internationale Kurzfilmfestival interfilm

Our own SAE Berlin Film and VFX students had the chance to document this years international renowned short film festival Interfilm, which toke place from the 10 - 15.11.2015 in Berlin. Interfilm is one of the biggest film festivals in Berlin, right after the famous Berlinale, with about 500 films in 50 different programs and a new visitors record of 20.000 Film enthusiast (600 accredited professional guests and 250 international and national filmmakers).

Also this year SAE Institute Berlin have sponsored the international competition with a sum of 2.000 Euro for: Best life act. The prize was given away by the jury member and oscar winner, Chris Landreth. 

During the six days of Festival the students had the opportunity to learn trough practical experience and gain valuable experience. The students documented the numerous events such as the opening ceremony, the Inter forum and the sounds and visions as well as conducting interviews with artists, employees and the inter film team. They were also created the visuals for the award ceremony and were responsible for the technical process during the closing ceremony at the Heimathafen Neukölln.

Furthermore, the SAE students have the opportunity to participate for free in two master classes:

  • Making faces - the oscar winning Chris Landreth on facial expression in animation and acting & seizing the moment. 
  • Jan Harlan on the Short Film as calling card

The documentation is currently in post-production and will be finished in the next 1-2 weeks.
