SAE Panel: Hybrid/Live - The Blurred Lines of Performance
In recent years, the electronic music industry has seen a transition from the standard DJ model to live performance.
A number of artists were pushing the limits of live music with innovative customised performance systems. The set-ups varied from a mixture of MIDI controllers, keyboards and outboard synths to drum machines, samplers and electronic drum pads, sometimes even featuring a live musician or vocalist on stage.
For this panel, we have put together a lineup of incredible artists such as Dave Clarke, Anthony Rother, Agoria, Matthew Dear and Rebekah; each with a distinct performance style and set-up culminating in a seamless live performance. We discuss what it really takes to move a club; from taking a cut down version from the studio to manipulating the tracks live so they sound fresh.
Moderator: Dave Clarke (UK)
Guest Speakers: Agoria (FR), Rebekah (UK), Matthew Dear (US), Anthony Rother (DE)
The event will take place on Friday, 20th of October, from 14.00h to 14.45h in G2 Panel Room in De Brakke Grond (Nes 45).
