Creative universities contribute more than £8 billion to UK economy, according to new research.

The joint report released by GuildHE, Ukadia and the HEAD Trust, shows creative institutes are contributing £8.4 billion and over 312, 000 jobs to the nation’s economy.

"This report provides clear evidence that with a multi-billion pound contribution to the economy, creative industries and the universities and colleges that support them are in an extremely strong position to be significant contributors to the delivery of the Prime Minister's Industrial Strategy. ” said GuildHE Vice Chair, Professor John Last.

Prime Minister Theresa May announced plans earlier last week, to invest billions of dollars into research and innovation, as she addressed the CBI annual conference.

Professor John Last said he hopes the government will acknowledge the essential pipeline of creative graduates provided by universities, as the May administration looks “to make Britain the go-to place for innovators and investors.”

SAE is a partner of the GuildHE, and provides creative media degrees in Animation, Audio, Film, Games, Music Business and Web.
