SAE London 2nd year Music Business students have been wearing their event management hats and are set to promote their first gig "One of those nights' at the O2 Academy in Islington on Tuesday 28 November at 7pm.
The students are operating under their newly formed company Fish Bowl Events and have been honing their skills over the past few months by visiting a number of high profile venues and meeting professional event managers.
The Fish Bowl Events team consists of:
- Claudia Brown - Project Manager
- Cameron Pettit - Finance and Production Management
- Ana Gonzalvo - Marketing Management
- Maxime Thevenin - Marketing
- Alana Valerio - Administrator
Music Business Programme Cordinator Lee Erinmez commented:
"With their first event in the capital, Fish Bowl Events bring together some of the best, new talent based in the UK. Combing a mixture acoustic acts and live bands, the event features Short Stories and Suspects, who’s summer singles have been gaining traction across a number of London radio stations, and also singer/songwriters Frankie Roe and Rouge (Spain).
The team commented on the experience of managing their first high profile gig:
"This experience has been invaluable and really opened our minds to the logistics involved in organising a public facing gig on this scale. It has taught us to work collaboratively and to tight deadlines and we are so excited to welcome visitors to the event in November"
The events team were keen to not just gain valuable industry experience but to also tap into local talent through SAE.
Short Stories features two SAE Audio Production students - Ash Walker and Billy Stewart who recently launched their Valhalla EP. Artists Frankie Roe and Rouge are currently managed by Music Business students Claudia Brown and Ana Gonzalvo.
