About Global Game Jam

The Global Game Jam® (GGJ) is the world's largest game creation event taking place around the world simultaneously, but at different physical locations. Many have described it as a hackathon, focused on game development. The jam is always an intellectual challenge with people required to design, develop, create, test and make a new game in 48 hours.

The event was born out of the idea, that in today’s heavily connected world, gamers come together, be creative, share experiences and express themselves in a multitude of ways using video games. GGJ is designed stimulate collaboration, creativity, community spirit and is not a competition.
