SAE Cape Town in collaboration with Inspired Minority Pictures (IMP)

Back to Overview

26th February 2010

SAE Cape Town is in an exciting collaboration with Inspired Minority Pictures (IMP) who is a cutting edge film company in Cape Town.

SAE provided five audio students to the sound design team for the short film IMP has produced called ‘Pumzi’ (‘breath’ in Swahili). The film production quality is of such a high standard that ‘Pumzi’ showed to packed houses every screening at the recent Sundance Film Festival held in January in the USA. The response to the film has been so significant; there are now plans to develop ‘Pumzi’ into a full-length feature film.

SAE has now assigned a new group of students to the crew of IMP’s feature film ‘Spoon’, starring Rutger Hauer and due for a release in the latter half of 2010.

SAE Cape Town is providing quality students and the Institute’s top of the totem facilities to IMP as a sincere contribution to quality filmmaking in South Africa.
