SAE London invest in cutting-edge HD equipment to keep their film making courses the most relevant in the capital…

SAE Institute have invested in the most up-to-date equipment available. Now students studying for film making qualifications can actually get ahead of industry trends!

Four new High Definition (HD) cameras will allow students to fully embrace the fast rising HD format, including two Panasonic HVX200 camcorders, as well as two JVC GY200 HD models, which have already been embraced by news reporters and documentary filmmakers – including the makers of the Fox TV’s America’s Most Wanted – for their compact size, robust build and stunning HD picture quality.

SAE have also invested in seven Nikon camera lenses. Used with an adapter, these high quality lenses can be mounted on to a camcorder for exceptional control of Depth Of Field, a technique long enjoyed by photographers and one that’s about to become a new standard for videographers.

Other additions to the equipment list include Apple and Dell cinema displays and the latest 8Core Apple MacPro, as well as ‘green screen’ additions that will greatly enhance the students’ potential for manipulating visuals and special effects.

Head of DFM Courses, Aaron Cazzola said: “We’re exceptionally proud of what we achieve here with our Digital Film Making courses. We train our students to the very highest levels, but with this latest investment we’re not only giving our students the best industry standard equipment to work with, we’re also using it as an opportunity to get to grips with techniques and practices that aren’t even industry standard as yet!”

The equipment list includes…

2 x JVC GY200 HD PRO cameras, 2 x Panasonic HVX200, 2 x SG Blade DOF adapters, 2 x Nikon  85mm Prime Lens, 2 x Nikon 50mm Prime Lens, 2 x Nikon 28mm Prime Lens, 1 x Nikon 16mm Fish Eye Lens
